Eloise Ross

Freelance Photographer

A York based professional photographer whose work documents community-based arts events, social engagement projects and the joy of real life experiences in the community.

Sharing diverse visual stories about the arts, social history and local communities. The photography allows us to see things in a new light, whether that be showcasing objects, people’s talents or ‘in the moment’ events.

The projects documented are engaging, created with people who offer change through providing positive experiences, breaking down barriers and promoting collaborations.

Elly has worked with organisations in the Yorkshire region including York Museums Trust, York Theatre Royal, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Tang Hall Big Local & York Explore & Archives, Sledmere House and several charities.

“Capturing the narrative of moments and the people who are involved is what my passion for photography is about and I also love trying to read spaces/rooms and objects through examining the elements of what makes them. Showing people, objects and places in an interesting light.”

For several photography groups and curated Arts projects. As ever excited to see what artistic talents can be discovered and shared to a wider audience as judge for the brilliant SCAF Emerging Artist Award 2024 - Scott Creative Arts Foundation
